(Licensed & insured)
Yorkshire mixes busy cities, airports, military airfields and National Parks, so every flight is planned for its location.
SkyHi is a CAA-registered drone operator, Matt holds the CAA's A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC), and every flight is covered by commercial insurance.
Matt checks every location for airport restriction zones such as Leeds Bradford's, military airfields like RAF Leeming and any temporary restrictions, and gets permission where it's needed.
In the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors, flights follow National Park guidance, with landowner permission and care around livestock, nesting birds and walkers.

Yes. SkyHi's pilot, Matt Barker, is based in Leeds and flies across West, North, South and East Yorkshire, from Leeds, York, Sheffield and Hull to the Dales, the North York Moors and the coast. Travel within Yorkshire is included in the price.
A commercial drone pilot in the UK needs to be registered with the Civil Aviation Authority (an Operator ID and a Flyer ID), carry commercial insurance and follow UK drone rules. Some types of flying, such as close to people, also need qualifications like the A2 CofC or GVC. Matt holds the A2 CofC and is fully insured for commercial drone work.
Yes. Drones can be flown in Yorkshire's National Parks when you follow UK drone law, get the landowner's permission to take off and land, and avoid disturbing people, livestock and wildlife. Matt plans every National Park flight with this in mind and follows each park's guidance.
The main ones are the flight restriction zones around airports such as Leeds Bradford, the airspace around military airfields such as RAF Leeming, and temporary restrictions for events and air displays. Flights inside these areas need permission or aren't allowed. Matt checks the airspace for every location before a job is confirmed.
Yes, with planning. Beaches and cliff tops along the Yorkshire coast can be busy, some are managed by councils or conservation bodies with their own rules, and many cliffs are home to nesting seabirds. Matt checks the rules for each stretch of coast and plans flights for the right time and tide.
Matt flies the DJI Air 3S and other camera drones for high-resolution aerial photography and smooth 4K video, and FPV drones for fast, immersive flythroughs indoors and out. The right drone, or a mix of both, is chosen for each job.
Send your location, preferred dates and what you want to capture through our contact form. Matt will check the airspace and permissions, suggest the best approach and send you a quote.
